Installing Zerto’s Virtual Replication in Minutes – Step 1

One of the biggest reasons why customers love Zerto is because it’s so simple and easy to install (and it does exactly what it says on the tin), which isn’t common for any typical DR solution. Many vendors say they are simple, but Zerto is the rare exception where it really is as simple as we say it is. There is no better way for me to convince you of this than showing you the install process first hand!

In a series of blog posts I’m going to take you through the entire process in 5 short videos so you can not only see just how easy it is, you can follow along and get your own trial or production install of Zerto running in less than 30 minutes (25 to be exact).

The first step of installing Zerto is the Zerto Virtual Manager (ZVM) which plugs into your vCenter or SCVMM server to give you redundant HTML5 management interfaces for each datacenter. You need 1 per vCenter/SCVMM and the ZVM should be installed in a Windows VM with 2vCPU, 4GB of RAM, a static IP and around 100GB of disk space. While deploying this VM, click to get a free trial and download the software from MyZerto and copy it to the new VM ready to start. Once you’ve done this watch the below video to see how to install a ZVM for both VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V in just 4 minutes 16 seconds, that’s how easy it is!
