Zerto Recognized in Gartner Magic Quadrant

Est. Reading Time: 4 minutes

For the second straight year, we’ve been recognized by Gartner® in their Magic Quadrant™ for Enterprise Backup and Recovery Software Solutions. We’d like to thank our partners and customers who have helped us along this journey in developing an innovative product that we feel pushes the limits of conventional backup.

Zerto, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, was founded with a unique and forward-thinking approach to protecting data when we pioneered what remains the cornerstone of our solution, continuous data protection. Today, most businesses need to be up and running 24/7 and cannot tolerate the data loss associated with traditional data protection solutions. We offer customers near-instant recovery of whole sites and applications across their entire hybrid cloud estate. That includes Kubernetes workloads with RPOs of seconds and no impact to production systems or workloads.

All this comes within one simple, scalable, software-only data protection solution. Disruptions such as ransomware attacks, natural disasters, and even IT migrations, are incredibly costly. Mitigating the impact of them is top of mind for customers in 2022 and for years to come. This is where we believe Zerto really shines. Let’s look at some use cases where Zerto excels and where our customers find amazing value.

Fast, Flexible Ransomware Recovery

There is no denying that the biggest threat to organizations across all industries and all sizes is ransomware, which continues to grow exponentially and increase the cost of downtime ($250K per hour on average). Organizations are now realizing that recovery from ransomware is just as important as preventing it in the first place. Our customers are evidence of how Zerto can save organizations time, money, and reputation by restoring within minutes to only seconds before an attack.

“Honestly, in the recent attack, I was kind of laughing during the recovery. I knew I had a way out with Zerto. I was confident, and my heart didn’t sink. I chose a recovery point a few minutes before the infection, tested for the VM being clean and connected the vNIC – back to work. I didn’t go home worried, stressed, or depressed.”

― Jayme Williams, Senior Systems Engineer, TenCate Protective Fabrics

Zerto’s continuous data protection (CDP) unlocks the fastest ransomware recovery experience by utilizing our unique journal, near-synchronous replication, and our application-centric approach to data protection so you can have the confidence of knowing you’re always protected.

Industry-Recognized Disaster Recovery

For more than a decade, Zerto has revolutionized the disaster recovery (DR) market, making it simpler, faster, and more reliable for thousands of organizations worldwide. Traditionally, DR has been a laborious process, requiring days or even weeks of hours of testing and overtime. Zerto eliminates this need with non-disruptive DR testing that can be conducted during business hours with only four simple clicks. IT departments can now re-focus time and effort onto strategic initiatives rather than their DR testing needs.

“Prior to having Zerto, I would’ve had to literally run a backup, restore, backup, restore. It probably would’ve taken me two to three days restoring and configuring. Prior to that, I probably would’ve had to spend up to a week to be fully operational again.”

― Alan Barrett, Head of IT, TWM Solicitors

Hybrid, Multi-Cloud Agility

When it comes to running a hybrid and multi-cloud environment, hypervisor, storage, and cloud agnostic offerings have huge advantages. From VMs to public cloud instances to Kubernetes applications, Zerto is purpose-built for DR at scale for all your hybrid and multi-cloud environments. We provide complete flexibility and give customers the ability to protect and migrate workloads to the technology of their choice without being locked down to any cloud or platform vendor.

“Zerto has over-exceeded our expectations. We’ve benefited greatly from implementing Zerto targeting Azure as a DR data center—not only from a cost perspective but from a flexibility, scalability, and reliability perspective as well.”

― TJ Kasabia, Senior Systems Engineer, Insight Global

2022 and Onwards

Zerto has accomplished great things during the past year. We have become a part of the Hewlett Packard Enterprise family, which is further driving Zerto forward. Our accelerated integration into the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform is driving new innovations, and our technology now powers the newly unveiled HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery service. Thanks to these achievements, customers are now empowered with the fastest recovery experience available across their entire hybrid cloud estate, along with a common, globally available management platform.

Further enhancements to our Zerto for Kubernetes product have enabled us to not only be the lone vendor offering CDP for Kubernetes workloads, but also to offer simultaneous replication to three different on-premises or cloud sites, giving critical containerized applications the protection, they need. Zerto Backup for SaaS, powered by Keepit, has gone from strength to strength, with new data centres in Canada and new support for Azure Active Directory. Zerto has added immutability for AWS, Azure and S3 compatible storage and developed a brand-new Linux appliance for virtualized environments, which comes pre-hardened to make Zerto even simpler and more secure than it has already been.

As you can see, Zerto is not slowing down our innovation and we truly believe CDP is the best way to protect modern workloads from the rapidly changing threat landscape. Data is now the world’s most valuable asset, and we feel only Zerto can enable organizations to minimize data loss and downtime and offer continuous protection for any app, any cloud, any threat.
