    • Changing a disk to Temp Data

Does anyone know if changing a disk to Temp Data causes Zerto to start replication over for the entire server?  I have a 50+ TB server that is still doing the initial sync for almost a month  (this is on a 10Gb LAN).  We believe it is never catching up because two of the LUNS […]

    • Rolling upgrade of ESXi on Nutanix

We running VMware 6.0 on a Nutanix cluster and gong to perform an upgrade to 6.5.  It will be our first ESXi upgrade on the Nutanix platform with Zerto running on it.  Nutanix has the “one click upgrade” option, where it does a rolling upgrade of all the hosts in the cluster and does the […]

    • Seed Secondary Datacenter and Migrate VPG

We are migrating servers to a new datacenter and would like DR already preseeded to a third datacenter when we cutover. Our plan is to use One to Many VPG replication to seed that third datacenter, but we need to know the best method to setup DR replication at cutover. Manually we would have to […]

    • Pre-Seeding volumes

I understand we can use pre-seeded volumes to copy the disks which will avoid the usage of WAN link for initial data sync. When we use Pre-seeded volumes in VMware, we are planning to use the hot clone of source VM’s and my questions are: Is this fully supported? what are the limitations? In the […]

    • Hyper-V VRA connectivity

Hi, I’ve got a small demo environment running in Azure, where I have a Hyper-V host which has a couple of VMs, SCVMM. Zerto has set up fine and installed the VRA, but I can’t seem to connect to the VRA from the rest of the network. The host can ping it, but trying to ping […]

    • Connection between vCenter and ZVM broken

Connection between vCenter and ZVM breaks regularly and then I’m not able to login to the ZVM from the console. This has happened after the upgrade to version 6.0 “The connection to access the hypervisor management tool are no longer valid and the ZVM must be updated with the new credentials” Credentials are verified and […]

    • Protect RDM's with Odd Number of Blocks

Purpose When protecting a VM with RDM LUNs in a Zerto Virtual Replication VPG, an administrator may see that the VPG unexpectedly drops into a “Needs Configuration” status with subtext similar to the following: The RDM {0} for the VM {1} in VPG {2} has an odd number of blocks, which can only be replicated […]

    • Multipathing support

So, I’m looking at the Zerto Virtual Manager Hyper-V Administration Guide, version 6.0 Rev01-U1 Mar2018. There’s a curious statement on page 261: Zerto Virtual Replication does not support multi-pathing. That’s a pretty blanket statement, and as written would seem to make Zerto unsupported in any highly-available Fibre Channel or iSCSI SAN environment with Hyper-V. That […]

    • Using Zerto to migrate VMs from ESX 5.5 to 6.5\6.7

I have an existing Zerto environment on vSphere 5.5U3 and I want to migrate the VMs to another environment on 6.5 or 6.7. It seems that the replication should continue to work between the 5.5 and 6.5\6.7 hosts. Anything I need to look out for   Thanks, Miguel
