    • VRA install error

Hello guys. Has someone seen this error installing VRAs in VMware ESXi 6.5? “Host has no VRA installed and is part of cluster that contains hosts with installed VRAs” see this message. I will try to remove the ESXi server from the vCenter. Try to install Z-VRA. http://postfiles4.naver.net/MjAxOTA4MTlfMjc4/MDAxNTY2MTc5ODY1ODc5.s8Nh3ZkpUmXHEKsYHB2K9Cr8KdqwCStZUIhSV6a4YTog.lRUJckxgQEqAJqLOFt8dQ1V1X6Qet3wk5HO1AhDDwWYg.JPEG.jdavis/SE-f46f0364-a8a5-471d-9cd0-44f793a45714.jpg?type=w580 Our work history below. • Vmware app stack and writable volumes

I have a customer that is looking to move to Zerto.  However, they are currently heavy in vmware with vxrail implementation of VDI.  They want an easy backup solution of their writable volumes and app stacks.  This needs to be clean, repeatable, and scalable.  Does Zerto have any sales advantages I can use for this […]

    • Stuck Bitmap Sync after ESXi update

Two weeks ago I upgraded Zerto to Version 9.0 Update 4 Build 090409252.  Last week we started patching our Hosts to VMware ESXi, 6.7.0, 19898906.  After patching and a reboot the VRA reconnects, but all of the VM’s that move to the Host go to Bitmap Sync and stick at 0% with no movement.  We […]

    • failover test network creation

Hi, we’re testing Zerto 9.7 in a vSphere 7.0.3 environment with two sites and we use dvSwitches. Looking for what people are doing to create a failover test network in VMware on a dvswitch , or another solution? Some of the examples online are old and only talk about std switches. Thanks G

    • Architecture Question / vCenter Location

We have a primary data center and a warm DR site. We already have Zerto in place using a vCenter and ZVM at each location. However, we need to add VMs from another cluster that’s being managed by a different vCenter. The hosts are located at the production site. The vCenter that’s managing them is […]

    • Exclude large volume from replication

We have a few vm’s with very large volumes attached (in the 2TB range) and would like to protect the OS drive but not the cache drive(s). Is there a way to set up a VPG so that it excludes these drives? Setting them as Temp still causes the VPG to want to do an […]

    • VM Version question

As we start to prepare for the Meltdown and Spectre remediation steps that need to be addressed I started to compile a list of virtual appliances that have a VM Version less than version 9 (there are vMotion issues once the patches start getting applied to the Hosts if your VM Version is below 9).  […]

    • VRA VM overrides – auto power on?

We are upgrading most of our infra from vSphere 6.0x to 6.5u1. One of the inconsistencies is whether VRA’s will automatically power on after the host comes back online.  We are on Zerto 5.5u2p1. Most of our clusters all have VM Overrides set for each VRA to Disable both DRS automation and HA restart priority […]

    • Understanding VPG storage sizes as reported by ZVM

We have been asked several times by clients what the Zerto storage values relate too and how they are calculated – hopefully this is useful to others…. When looking at the VPG details you will see that the ZVM reports back the following storage values, these values are also used in various reports and API […]

    • Multiple vCenter replication pairs

Hello all, Could you guys please let me know how many Zerto nodes are required for the following setup: Number of sites: 3 (A, B, C). All sites are considered as active and recovery sites for one of the other two. Number of vCenter servers per site: 2 ( Management, Compute) I am planning to […]
