“Note: When installing Zerto with an embedded database, SQL Server 2014 (SP3) will be used.” SQL 2014 EXTENDED support is over next year, this should be upgraded in the installation to 2022.

    • VPG routinely in bitmap sync

I’m running into an issue where VPGs will go into a a bitmap sync with a small amount of data with the error “Reason:  Recovery VRA Communication Problem”.  In the current example, one VPG is in a bitmap sync with 80MB remaining out of 201.4MB in the bitmap sync and the VPG has been trying […]

    • VMkernel.Boot.execInstalledOnly – Still not Fixed?

I’ve just updated to v10 on esxi 8.0.1 and now have the requirement to disable VMkernel.Boot.execInstalledOnly every reboot of a host to avoid a PSOD. I look back and see this has been an issue for some time now, several years – there have been questions raised on these forums before. Can you give us […]

    • Is it possible to keep custom attributes?

We are using some custom attributes as well as tags in vCenter to document some details about our VMs.  Is there a way to keep the custom attributes when we fail over?  I’ve checked the Site Settings > Policies > Replication > “For incoming replication, copy the vSphere VM tags to the recovered VM.”  Is […]

    • Migration with ZCC on both source and target?

We have been using the ZCC component since it’s a really helpful component to segregate networks on multi-tenant environments. The architecture described in the documentation seems to only apply to a DRaaS scenario where a customer’s vmware environment (source) is paired to a multi-tenant provider (target). However, in a migration project, both sides (source and […]

    • Support for ESXi 8.0.1 with 9.7

I installed ESXi 8.0.1 in a new datacenter and VRA will not install. Support said it isn’t supported yet but that they “will make [it] compatible within 60 days after the release of this patch”. That version of ESX was released on 4/18/23, so does that mean the Zerto patch will be released on (or […]

    • Support for ESXi 7.0.3 1 2 3

Hi, According to the Zerto Interoperability matrix , ZVR version 9.0U3 doesn’t support ESXi v7.0.3. My ESXi hosts are on v7.0.3-U3c and my vCenter Server is v7.0-U3c. Does this mean I can’t deploy Zerto in my environment?? If not, when will Zerto support ESXi 7.0.3??? George.

    • Deploy VRAs as Thin Provisioned on vSAN

Is there a way to deploy VRAs as thin provisioned on vSAN? Is it safe to perform a conversion from thick to thin on the VRA? Do I just need to create a special storage policy for the VRAs?   Thanks in advance.

    • ZVM – Windows to Linux migration

Is there any method of migrating from the Windows ZVM to the new Linux-based ZVM?  I’m not seeing anything documented, only that it will be in an “upcoming release”. We’ve set up a lab with the current Windows ZVM and its VRAs then deployed the Linux ZVMs.  We can link them but only one VRA […]
