    • Internet Circuit Failover

We all know that our primary circuits *never* go down, but when they do, it behooves us to have a backup circuit ready to fail over.  Over our primary internet circuits between HQ & DR, we will have 100Mbps dedicated to replication traffic.  However, our backup circuits are 4gLTE on cradlepoint routers and we may […]

    • What is the best setup?

Hey guys, I am evaluating Zerto (along with Arcserve and Veeam) and wanted to see the best way to setup Zerto up. I have 2 ESX hosts (Host A and B) at the main site and 1 DR host at the DR site (Host C); I do have two vcenters, one at main and one […]

    • Migrating DR Environment

We will be migrating our DR environment this coming weekend.  Currently DR has been living about 2 feet away from production to seed and test for the last several months. We will be fork-lifting that to our DR site starting Saturday – stay tuned for updates!

    • Can Zerto protect vCenter Appliances?

Has anyone tried putting vCenter Appliances into a VPG for replication and potential recovery? Would this work and is it supported? Primary idea is to have a vCenter appliance for Horizon View (which would not be a paired ZVR vCenter instance) protected for recovery if needed.

    • Could I use Veeam replicated VMs to Preseed ZVR?

Yes you can. We pre-seed from disks, not VMs. Therefore, what you need to do is: First deploy the Veeam replicated VMs which means failover/restore in Veeam (it wasn’t clear from the question whether the “Veeam replicated VMs” are already VMs or if they are just in the Veeam backup repository) After you have actual […]

Here is the ZVR to AWS architecture. It’s the familiar layout that we have on the Enterprise side.

    • NIC Settings on Failover

Note: This question was pulled from an email thread. I’ve got question regarding failback in a scenario where I had to failover to a Hyper-V site from a VMware site. When failing over from VMware to Hyper-V the machines get converted but my question is specific to the NIC in case of a fail-back. Let’s […]

    • What are the ZVR components in AWS?

      * Zerto Virtual Manager – Manages disaster recovery, business continuity and offsite backup functionality at the site level; plugs into the hypervisor manager *Zerto Virtual Replication Appliance – Replicates the VMs and virtual disks; one per host required * Zerto Backup Appliance – Manages offsite backup operations. Runs as a service within the ZVM at […]
