    • Failover RecoverTime much longer than FailoverTest

We have an 11 VM VPG that will become accessible relatively quickly when we run our failover test.  When we run an actual failover it takes about 90 minutes for all 11 VMs to come online. Can someone help me understand the different under hood on the recovery site when we run a  failover test […]

    • Obtaining timelines of entering/leaving protection

Second time lucky after the forum message popup disappeared with my about-to-be-sent post 🙁 I have taken over an embryonic Java project whose purpose is to obtain information about when VMs enter and leave protection. We need a timeline of VM activities from a protection point of view. I am already well-versed in obtaining event […]

    • VRA still exist after uninstalling

I uninstalled multiple VRAs using the uninstall option in the Zerto management webpage.  The uninstall progressed without any errors and the results were “uninstallation completed successfully”.  I then checked the ESX host and all of the VRAs are still installed any running.  Before performing the uninstall there were no VPGs or VMs listed.  What is […]

    • Move recovery site’s ZVM to another server

Hi, we’re running Zerto v9.0-U2. We have one PROD site with VPGs replicating our vSphere VMs to one recovery site. We’re having some issues with the ZVM server at the recovery site and would like to replace it with a new one. I found KB article 000004266, is it what I need to follow?? The […]

    • Failover

Can anyone point me to any detailed documents of where I can find information on what exactly what is occurring behind the scenes on each step of a fail-over? – I am looking for fine details of what is occurring at each stage listed below. Fail-over is initiated of VPG Failing over before commit (Preparing […]

    • Can’t add cluster as vCenter Resource pool in ZCM

Having an odd issue. We’re looking to decommission a cluster in VMware (hosts are older and planned for decom), but Zerto is using the cluster as the recovery host resource. All VMs moved out of the cluster, and was going to move the VMs to a new Recovery host in the ZVM, but it will […]

    • Zerto Orchestrator feedback

I see that Zerto Orchestrator is a tool to help with testing. It was last updated in 2018. Is anyone using it? Do you get value from it? Why hasn’t it been upgraded? Is support expected to continue, or will it stop being supported in the near future? Is Zerto 9.5u3 still compatible with Orchestrator? […]

    • how to setup zerto test netwks with vLANs

Hi group, I would like to find feedback on how others have setup zerto sandbox networks for testing with vlans. I found this on the web – https://www.jpaul.me/2016/02/creating-a-zerto-failover-test-network. Have you used this approach, or something different? Does anyone have lessons learned / suggestions on how they setup their failover network? Thanks!

    • ZVRA Resources

Hi group. How many CPUs is recommended for the ZVRA to be configured in the production environment if each host has an average of 20 vms, is there a formula that measures this to establish the cpu and memory resources that the ZVRA needs? Cheers

    • Bit map sync after ESXi host upgrade

HI Team,   We upgraded our ESXi host last week. We have noticed that after host upgrade most of VPGs has status as Bit map sync. Now what surprised me the most is, the VM in VPG has size of 19TB and bit map sync shows size to sync around 19TB!!! We expect to sync […]

    • SRM and Zerto

Hi, we are implementing Vmware SRM for Local failover onsite and currently have Zerto setup to replicate offsite to a 3rd party.  The question is for Vmware SRM it relies on multiple VCenter servers.  Can you still use Zerto in a multiple Vcenter setup and will zerto still work if a VM fails over locally […]
