    • Exclude large volume from replication

We have a few vm’s with very large volumes attached (in the 2TB range) and would like to protect the OS drive but not the cache drive(s). Is there a way to set up a VPG so that it excludes these drives? Setting them as Temp still causes the VPG to want to do an […]

    • VM Version question

As we start to prepare for the Meltdown and Spectre remediation steps that need to be addressed I started to compile a list of virtual appliances that have a VM Version less than version 9 (there are vMotion issues once the patches start getting applied to the Hosts if your VM Version is below 9).  […]

    • VRA VM overrides – auto power on?

We are upgrading most of our infra from vSphere 6.0x to 6.5u1. One of the inconsistencies is whether VRA’s will automatically power on after the host comes back online.  We are on Zerto 5.5u2p1. Most of our clusters all have VM Overrides set for each VRA to Disable both DRS automation and HA restart priority […]

    • Understanding VPG storage sizes as reported by ZVM

We have been asked several times by clients what the Zerto storage values relate too and how they are calculated – hopefully this is useful to others…. When looking at the VPG details you will see that the ZVM reports back the following storage values, these values are also used in various reports and API […]

    • Multiple vCenter replication pairs

Hello all, Could you guys please let me know how many Zerto nodes are required for the following setup: Number of sites: 3 (A, B, C). All sites are considered as active and recovery sites for one of the other two. Number of vCenter servers per site: 2 ( Management, Compute) I am planning to […]

    • Z-VRA’s not powering down for host maintenance

When trying to remediate my ESXi hosts using Lifecycle Manager, the VRA’s are not powering down to allow the hosts to go into maintenance mode.  If I manually place the host into maintenance mode, they power off.  Anyone know a fix? vCenter – 7.0.3 Zerto – 9.0. U4

    • DRS moving VMs to host before VRA is online

When we perform host maintenance, protected VMs are being moved to the hosts via DRS before the VRA is fully online.  This is causing up to 2 hour delta syncs to happen before we can move on to the next host. Is there a way to prevent VMs from moving until the VRA is ready?

    • Failover RecoverTime much longer than FailoverTest

We have an 11 VM VPG that will become accessible relatively quickly when we run our failover test.  When we run an actual failover it takes about 90 minutes for all 11 VMs to come online. Can someone help me understand the different under hood on the recovery site when we run a  failover test […]
