    • Failover to local VC

Hi What are the procedure when replicating VPG to  the local VC ? If a VM fails for some reason, can we fail it over? Since it’s local VC , the “missing” production VM might cause issues during the failover.

    • ZVM high availabilty

Hi Once we are doing local protection, lets assume to other SAN,  what are the options to make the ZVM resiliance as well? In case the main SAN failure, the vcenter will continue to work since it has HA and will have secondary replica over the 2nd SAN. But what about the ZVM? I think […]

    • VSS Agent and Windows Server 2012 R2 Core?

I have multiple Windows Server 2012 R2 Core instances which are running things like AD DS and SQL Server 2017.  I want the application-consistent replication that VSS brings to the table but I am unable to install the Zert0 VSS Agent.  When I try to do so I receive this error: Zerto VSS Agent is […]

    • Citrix VDI Replication from ESX to Azure

Customer I am working with has a XenApp environment.  We are working on building a DR strategy to Azure. We have almost everything mapped out but are trying to replicate the actual XenApp servers themselves now and I am having a problem due to the 16MB identity disks Citrix uses to identify the different linked […]

    • Circular logging with using replications

With using Zerto, is it safe to enable circular logging on Exchange?  I have read it is safer to use an Exchange aware backup solution, but with real time replications running, the server can be recovered to a point in time anyway. I am leaning toward using circular logging since we do have replications, but […]

    • Disk space of a replicated server

Is there a way to determine the disk space taken of one specific server that is being replicated with a 30 day journal history?  We are trying to determine how much more disk space would be used if we would up the journal history to 90 days.

    • Adjust journal history in planner

I’m looking to use the new ‘Planning’ feature as part of version 7 analytics. I was just wondering if there’s a way of adjusting the journal history to get an accurate storage usage report? It appears to be permanently set to 24 hours. Thanks Stephan

    • Journal Location

Browsing the files located on the datastores that we use as Journal locations for our protected/critical VMs (under “ZeRTO volumes” folder) yesterday, I noticed that on one of the Journal locations, the “…_log_volume.vmdk” virtual disks have the latest modified dates 9/9/2019 and other virtual disks have modified dates 2/5/2019 and earlier.  There are no VMDK […]

    • VMWare 6.5 Encryption

We are looking at using data encryption in VMWare 6.5 .  In this scenario a Key Management Server works in concert with vCenter to provide encryption/decryption keys for when a VM boots up.  In essence, a powered down VM is data-at-rest encrypted.  Does Zerto have guidelines for set up in this environment, how Zerto movements […]
