Does VM tools need to be upto date for migration?

    Hello,

    We need to migrate VM from source to target using zerto migrate. For many servers vmware tools are not upto date, and in some cases it is not installed. I need confirmation if we can migrate VMs using zerto in this scenario?

    Hi Sudhakar,

    Zerto Migrate only triggers vCenter vMotion.  So you can run migrate and it would work. But you must understand that without vMware Tools some of the features on VM and Hypervisor may not work, like re-ip. That’s why we recommend install and update vMware Tools on all your environment.
