How do we failover test without affecting DNS?

  • How do we do a failover test, and how do we make sure there are no DNS conflicts?

Information on performing a failover test in Zerto 7.0 are available in the below two links.

The Test Failover Process – http://s3.amazonaws.com/zertodownload_docs/Latest/Zerto%20Virtual%20Replication%20Zerto%20Virtual%20Manager%20%28ZVM%29%20-%20vSphere%20Online%20Help/index.html?cb=1566938346#page/AdministratorforZertoVirtualManager%2FTesting_VC.16.2.html

Starting and Stopping Failover Tests –

You should have no problem with DNS on your Failover Test VM, so long as you are using a separate network for the “Failover Test Network” field in the Recovery page of Edit VPG. Please see page 62 of the Zerto Administration Guide –
“Failover Test Network: The network to use when testing the failover of virtual machines in the recovery site. Zerto recommends using a fenced-out network so as not to impact the production network at this site”
