ZVM Failover with two data centers

    Hello,

    I have an infrastructure with two data centers, with one ZVM in each datacenter.

    When I lose one of the two ZVMs, the replication does not work anymore, the second ZVM does not take over, is this normal, or is it a configuration problem?

    Hi Damien,

    When one of your ZVMs go down, the VRAs will still replicate, you just have no visibility into the ZVM that is down.

    During this time, the VRAs will go into a bitmap sync.  Data changes still get saved but it doesn’t sync over to your DR site because it can’t access the ZVM database. One the ZVM is back up then it will continue it’s bitmap sync to get the data over.
