Upgrade failed and now I can’t uninstall

  • I ran the 9.0.x installer to upgrade an 8.5 installation and it hung on converting the VRA database for hours. Because of this I had to kill the installer from Task Manager as the cancel option was unresponsive in the installer.

    Now the current 8.5 install is corrupted, I can’t even export VPGs using the Zerto Diagnostics tool.

    I decided to uninstall via Apps and Features, when I do I get an MSI -2147023278 error directing me to support, I can’t find a reference to this error on the support site.

    I want to manually uninstall, but can’t find instructions to do so. Can anyone assist?

    Can’t help with the uninstall bit but every night Zerto makes a copy of the VPG configurations for just this type of event. If you haven’t already, take a copy and store it safe. The export XML files can be found in the “ExportedSettings” folder under the Zerto Virtual Replication folder.
