host ESXi – change hardware / keep hostname

    I need change hardware of the host ESXi and keep the hostname. Can you please advise what is the best practice the to do so?

    Hello,

    Mike from Zerto here. We would recommend that if this is a host on the protected (production) site, to vMotion the protected VMs off of the host, and if this is a host on the recovery (DR) site to Change VM Recovery VRA to move all VPGs to other recovery hosts. Then uninstall the VRA on the host. When you put the host back, then you can install a new VRA on the host and put everything else back the way it was.
