failover process with SQL Server

  • Would it be possible to send some step-by-step guides or information about the Zerto switchover/ failover process with SQL Server? We are not using Azure so this info isn’t required. I just need more information on how to carry out a DR test with SQL Server / Zerto, how we would fail back after a DR test, and whether this process would be different to a real DR situation.

    Hi Israel,

Here is our best practices guide for protecting Microsoft SQL server with Zerto:
    http://s3.amazonaws.com/zertodownload_docs/Latest/SQLBestPractices.pdf?cb=1576791097

The best practices for carrying out a DR test would depend on exact configuration.
For example, is the SQL server in question part of a failover cluster (active/passive nodes) or part of an Always-on Availability group?

Failover test information for both scenarios can be found on pg 7.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions after reviewing this material.

    Thank you,
