Client based replication

Just a quick question.  A sales guy was trying to tell me there is a client side licence that can be used to replicate VMs to a site without a ZVM in the protected site.  is that possible?  i can’t find any documentation to support this statement.

the question is based on how we can easily migrate some servers out of a service provider where we have no access to the hypervisor into our cloud platform.
