Eerror: “Session operation has timed out” when Installing VRA

Summary

An administrator may come across a VRA Install failure due to a timeout.

Root Cause

The version of ESXi running on the host where the VRA is attempting to be deployed is not supported by the version of Zerto installed.

For example, the host is running ESXi 6.5.0 build 14320405 (this build equals ESXi 6.5 Update 3) and the ZVM is running Zerto version 6.5 update 2. ESXi 6.5 update 3 is supported on Zerto version 6.5 update 4, and Zerto 7.0 update 2 and higher.

Symptoms

A VRA installation task fails with the error:

Session operation has timed out

Solution

To resolve this issue, review the Zerto Interoperability Matrix and verify the installed version of Zerto is compatible with the version of ESXi or vCenter you plan to install/upgrade/currently running.

If needed, upgrade Zerto to a version that supports the version of ESXi or vCenter before proceeding.
