This issue is only relevant when replicating to vCD.

Solution

This issue affects Zerto Virtual Replication versions 4.0U3 - 4.0 U4. The issue was permanently resolved in Zerto Virtual Replication 4.0 U6.

For customers running 4.0 U34.0 U4, there are 2 ways in which you can resolve this issue:

For Zerto Virtual Replication 4.0 U3:

- Permanent fix: Upgrade to Zerto Virtual Replication 4.0U6.

- Hotfix: For customers running 4.0 U3, a hotfix and a tweak should be implemented in order to resolve this issue. We strongly recommend upgrading to 4.0 U6 as a resolution. In case a hotfix is needed, it should be provided by Zerto support.

**After applying the hotfix, the tweak you need to implement in the recovery ZVM is:
t_skipProtectedVolumeSizeValidationForVcd = "true"

Standard ZVM tweaks for versions under 4.5, are located at "C:Program Files (x86)ZertoZerto Virtual Replicationtweaks.txt"

To implement a tweak:

  • Stop the ZVM service
  • Open the relevant tweaks file in Notepad
  • Add the relevant tweak on a new line
  • Save the file
  • Start the ZVM service
For customers running Zerto Virtual Replication 4.0 U4
- Permanent fix: Upgrade to Zerto Virtual Replication 4.0U6.
- Tweak: Since the hotfix provided in 4.0U3 is already included in 4.0 U4, you should only implement the tweak, without the hotfix.

The tweak you need to implement in the recovery ZVM is:
t_skipProtectedVolumeSizeValidationForVcd = "true"

Standard ZVM tweaks for versions under 4.5, are located at "C:Program Files (x86)ZertoZerto Virtual Replicationtweaks.txt"
