Within Zerto Virtual Replication 2.0 Update 5

For an Export/Import resulting in Initial Sync of recovery volumes, the following must be performed.

  1. Verify that the datastores being used as recovery datastores are listed in the "Configure Provider vDC" screen, and are marked as "recovery", and "preseed" volumes.

  2. Export VPG settings from the cloud site ZVM.

  3. Remove VPGs, and select to "Keep target disks at the peer site".

  4. Import VPG settings (the exported file) via the cloud site ZVM.

For a manual VPG configuration resulting in Delta Sync of recovery volumes, the following must be performed.

  1. Verify that the datastores being used as recovery datastores are listed in the "Configure Provider vDC" screen, and are marked as "recovery", and "preseed" volumes.

  2. Via the cloud site ZVR GUI, navigate to the Sites List, and edit the relevant source peer site masking, and ensure that a "preseed" folder is defined.

  3. Export VPG settings to CSV via the VPGs tab, to act as a guide for recreating VPGs.

  4. Remove VPGs, and select to "Keep target disks at the peer site".

  5. Recreate the VPGs using the preserved disks for preseeding, available via the masked preseed folders on the relevant datastores.
