Problem with ZVM GUI Does Not Load fully in Firefox 81.0

Viewed 277 times

Summary

After upgrading Firefox to version 81.0 or higher, Zerto GUI does not fully load, leaving administrators unable to login to the GUI.

Root Cause

The header information for the javascript path/file "scripts/workers/amf2.js" sent by the ZVM is blocked because the MIME type is incorrect for the file type, which is defined normally as "text/javascript" but in this case it's "application/octet-stream".

Symptoms

Trying to access the ZVM GUI in Firefox 81.0 will result in seeing the Zerto animation load but it will not continue to the login page.

Solution

There are two workarounds that can be attempted.

  1. The administrator can set the value of the highlighted security parameter to false in the Firefox about:config per this screenshot.

2. The administrator can use a different web browser if disabling this security feature in Firefox is not preferable.

This issue was permanently resolved starting in Zerto version 8.5 Update 1. Upgrading to this version or higher will resolve the problem.
