Problem with Initial Sync Showing High Throughput but Low WAN Traffic
Viewed 305 times
An administrator may notice during an initial sync that the performance graphs/data tables in the Zerto GUI show high throughput but low WAN traffic.
Protected VRA reads the protected disk and verifies each 128K block.
A 128K block with all zeroes is delivered as meta-data only - an indication that the block is all zeroes.
Should a 128K block of data be nearly all/mostly zeroes, this would explain why the throughput is high (VRA is reading the block on disk) and the WAN traffic is low (sending metadata and minimal 'real' data).
During initial sync, customer observes high throughput but low WAN traffic.
There is no solution as this is expected behavior.
