Problem with “Allow Zerto to always enter hosts to maintenance mode during remediation” Checkbox No Longer Present in GUI After Upgrade to 7.5

Viewed 67 times

Summary

An administrator, after upgrading Zerto to version 7.5, may notice the option "Allow Zerto to always enter hosts to maintenance mode during remediation" within Site Settings/Policies in the GUI is now gone.

Root Cause

This is a current product limitation within Zerto. Zerto is unable to detect maintenance mode initiated by VUM. Thus, to avoid impact, this option was removed from the Zerto GUI entirely in version 7.5.

Symptoms

After upgrading to Zerto 7.5, the "Allow Zerto to always enter hosts to maintenance mode during remediation" checkbox is no longer present in the Policies section of the Site Settings.

Solution

To workaround this, Administrators that wish to use VUM with Zerto need to script maintenance mode and shut down the VRA. An example script can be found on the Zerto Github.

There is also a Feature Request for VUM supportability with Zerto opened right now in the MyZerto Portal which can be accessed here. It is recommended to access this link and "vote" for the Feature Request if desired.
