Problem: Recovered VM in Azure portal shows its computer name as ‘not available’

Summary

This article explains why a VM will appear with the computer name field set to 'not available' following a failover from any platform to Azure.
 

Symptoms

After performing a successful failover of a VM from any platform to Azure, when reviewing the VM in Azure portal, the computer name field is 'not available'.

Solution

As this is an Azure limitation there is no need to fix it.
Please be aware that this field value does not impact anything.
