How to Change the MAC Address Assigned to a VRA

Cause:

An administrator may encounter situations, such as a MAC address conflict, where it is necessary to change the MAC address registered to an interface on a VRA.  This article outlines the steps necessary to do so, without having to deploy a new VRA.


Solution:
To change the MAC address registered to an interface on a VRA, it is necessary to replace the NIC configured on the VRA.  To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Shut down the relevant VRA.
  2. "Edit Settings" for the VRA VM in the vSphere Client.
  3. Remove the listed NIC.
  4. Save settings.
  5. "Edit Settings" for the VRA VM.
  6. Add a new NIC.
  7. Save settings.
  8. Power on the VRA.
