Error: “VM tools aren’t installed on [VM vm-Moref ID]” When Removing a VM from a VPG

An administrator is attempting to remove a VM from a VPG but either that VM or another VM in the VPG does not have VMware Tools installed/on a current version. This leads to the Update VPG task failing and the VM will remain in the VPG.
The VM that is intended to be removed, or another VM in the VPG, does not have VMware Tools installed and is configured to use Re-IP. It is also possible that the VMware Tools version is outdated which causes the same error to output to the screen.
When attempting to remove a VM from a VPG and this condition is met, the below error will be seen on the Zerto GUI:
VM tools aren't installed on [VM vm-Moref ID]
To resolve this issue, please follow the below:
Determine the VM which does not has VMware Tools installed on. This can be done by entering the following URL into a browser to open the VCenter Managed Object Browser (MOB): https://<vCenter IP>/mob/?moid=vm-#### (where vm-####) is the VM MoRef to check.
Check each VM in the VPG.
After confirming the relevant VM, the user will need to either install VMware Tools on that VM, upgrade the VMware Tools to something recent, or disable the Re-IP configuration for that VM in the VPG settings via Zerto GUI.
The VM may require a reboot after making the above changes. If the issue persists, ensure to reboot the relevant VM and try again.
Note: The error experienced may not point to the specific VM that is intended to be removed. It may indicate another VM in the VPG that does not have VMware Tools installed/on a current version and is configured to use Re-IP.
