Error: “The replacement host networks are not configured to enable the change host operation” when Attempting to Change VM Recovery VRA to a Specific Host

Viewed 315 times

Summary

An administrator attempts to change the VM recovery VRA for a VM or set of VMs to a specific host.  When they attempt to select the host from the drop down they will see a red circle with a '?' in it appear next to each VM that will not be allowed to change the VM recovery VRA.

Root Cause

It is possible the host the user is trying to change the recovery VRA to does not have access to one or more networks exposed to the other hosts on the recovery side.

Symptoms

When the administrator attempts to change the VM recovery VRA, they will see the red circle next to each one that will not be allowed to move.

If they hover over the red circle they will see the following message:

The replacement host networks are not configured to enable the change host operation

Solution

To resolve the issue, compare networks available on the original host and the host that is being selected to change the VM recovery VRA to. Add any missing networks to that host and try again.
