Error: “Storage Accounts Failed to register resource providers in Azure” when Installing a ZCA in Azure Government

Viewed 230 times

Summary

An administrator installing a ZCA in Azure Government may come across an error towards the end of the installation process.

Root Cause

Microsoft changed the endpoint used for Azure Government authentication from "login-us.microsoftonline.com" to "http://login.microsoftonline.us

The old endpoint no longer works for some operations. See the Microsoft notice about this here.

The Zerto installer in 7.0 and prior is hard coded with the old URL and thus will no longer work.

Symptoms

The installation of a ZCA in Azure Government will fail at the very end of the task with error:

Storage Accounts Failed to register resource providers in Azure

Solution

This issue was permanently fixed in Zerto version 7.0 Update 3. It is recommended to install at 7.0 Update 3 or higher to avoid this issue.
