Error: “Host Isn’t Ready for Use” When Creating VPG to Azure After Changing the IP of the ZCA

Viewed 305 times

An administrator, after changing the IP Address of an Azure ZCA, may find creating VPGs to that ZCA in Azure will fail.

Root Cause

The reconfiguration process that takes place as a part of the IP change procedure edits the CurrentSiteConfigurationSiteManagementDetailsExternalIp field in the SiteConfigurationStorageObject table that refers to the ZVM's IP, but doesn't update the VraInfoStorageObject table which contains the VRA information (which should have the same IP address in a ZCA scenario).

In some cases, the paired ZVM may still be referencing the old ZCA IP in the PeerVraInfo table as well.

Creating a VPG to a ZCA where the IP was changed will fail with the below:

Host isn't ready for use

To workaround this issue, follow the steps below, kindly engage Zerto Support to perform necessary ZCA Database edits.

This issue was resolved in Zerto version 8.5. Upgrading the environment to 8.5 prior to Re-IP of the ZCA will avoid the issue.
