Error: “Failed: Can’t Install VRA due to insufficient memory on host. Requested: X MB, Available: X MB”

Viewed 509 times

Summary

This article discusses a scenario in which there is not enough memory to install a VRA.

Root Cause

Not enough memory available on the host for the installation to complete.

If upon checking you discover that there is enough memory available on the host, then the issue may lie within the hypervisor (SCVMM/vCenter) as Zerto will retrieve the reflection information from the hypervisor.

Symptoms

The installation of the VRA will fail with the following error:
"Failed: Can't Install VRA due to insufficient memory on host. Requested: X MB, Available: X MB"

Solution

  • Add more memory to the host or free memory from existing VM's that already reside on the host.

  • If there is sufficient memory on the host, then compare the host and hypervisor to see what each is reporting. If there is a discrepancy and the hypervisor is reporting a lower value, then the inventory service or appropriate hypervisor agent may need to be restarted or refreshed.  For assistance in identifying, please open a Support case.
