Zerto Certified Professional (ZCP) Basic

ZCP Basic is an introductory technical class for those either new to Zerto Virtual Replication (ZVR) or those looking to brush up on their knowledge; some prior familiarity with virtualization is recommended. This two-hour class will be on-site and led by expert Zerto instructors.

Topics:

  1. Getting Started with ZVR: performing an express installation, accessing the Zerto Virtual Manager (ZVM), and navigating the ZVM interface
  2. Initial Configuration: installing Virtual Replication Appliances and pairing with a recovery site
  3. Protecting Data & Applications: creating and editing Virtual Protection Groups
  4. Recovering Data & Applications: executing failover tests, live failovers, moves, clones, backups, and file-level restore

The ZCP Basic exam is 25 questions with a 60 minute time limit; passing requires a 75% or higher.

The boot camp will be offered twice on Monday, May 22nd: 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm

BYOL: bringing your own laptop is recommended, but not required.

Note: this class is also available online as self-paced elearning in myZerto University. The instructor-led version and computer-based version result in equivalent ZCP Basic certifications.


Zerto Certified Professional (ZCP) Advanced

ZCP Advanced is an in-depth technical certification designed for those already very familiar with ZVR. ZCP Advanced is comprised of five core classes and one elective, but offered exclusively at ZertoCON 2017 as an accelerated one-day boot camp:

  1. ZCPA 301: Theory & Architecture
  2. ZCPA 302: Setup & Operations
  3. ZCPA 303: Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  4. ZCPA 304: Best Practices & Use Cases
  5. ZCPA 305: Using ZVR with VMware vSphere
  6. Elective: waived for ZertoCON 2017 only

Prerequisite: ZCP Basic certification, available online in myZerto University.

The boot camp will run on Monday, May 22nd, from 8am to 5pm.

Covers setup & operations, including deep dives on VPGs and advanced training on the six recovery operations you learned in ZCP Basic.

11am – 12pm | Keeping ZVR Working For You

Covers maintenance & troubleshooting, including a look at how to ensure your environments are running smoothly and what it takes to problem-solve common issues and errors.

12pm – 1pm | Lunch


1pm – 1:30pm | Keeping ZVR Working For You

1pm – 2:15pm | Working With ZVR More Effectively

Covers best practices & use cases, including Journal and WAN considerations, configuration recommendations, and technical options for public, private, or hybrid clouds.

2:15 – 2:30pm | Break


2:30pm – 4pm | Using ZVR with VMware vSphere

Covers hypervisor-specific information, including managing ZVR with vCenter and troubleshooting common vSphere issues when using ZVR.


4pm – 5pm | ZCP Advanced exam or dedicated hands-on lab time.

The ZCP Advanced exam is 60 questions with a 60 minute time limit; passing requires a 75% or higher.

Note: If you passed the beta version of the ZCPA exam at ZertoCON 2016 or ZertoCON Local, your ZCPA certification is still valid, but you won’t want to miss out on the full course series either at ZertoCON 2017 or later on.
