Cool Company to See at VMworld 2013: PLUMgrid

By Zerto, on 26 August, 2013

PLUMgridWalking around the show floor at VMworld 2013, we see companies who are doing some pretty cool things.  One company we’re glad to partner with is PLUMgrid.  According to their site, PLUMgrid is, “a new kind of Virtual Network Infrastructure (VNI) that allows businesses to completely replicate the functions of a physical network infrastructure (PNI) in a virtual environment, without requiring new hardware investment or changes to existing hardware infrastructure.” Basically, PLUMgrid enables the creation of virtual domains that replicate the physical network infrastructure in a virtual, programmable environment – without changes to existing hardware.

On one of their recent blog posts, they explain what they’ll be showing off at VMworld, and a bit about their strategy for virtual network infrastructure:

“As vendor strategies shift between SDN, OpenFlow, virtual networking and network function virtualization (NFV), PLUMgrid has taken an independent platform approach that easily meets the network agility and extensibility needs of the cloud datacenter. PLUMgrid is out spreading the word about Virtual Network Infrastructure!  Catch us at: VMworld San Francisco Booth #2035″
