Colt Launches vCloud Replication Service Powered by Zerto
By Zerto, on 10 October, 2013
Today we’re happy to announce the news of our partnership with Colt, a Cloud Service Provider and member of the Zerto Cloud Discovery Ecosystem. After working on the implementation of our DR into the Colt cloud for some time, today marks the official launch of their vCloud Replication service.
What is Colt offering?
Colt’s vCloud Replication Service allows replication of production workloads into a Colt vCloud environment in a near-synchronous fashion. Customer production workloads may reside in either customer vCenter or Colt vCloud capacity. A vCloud Replication Service Portal, based in the Zerto Self-Service Portal (ZSSP), enables Colt to quickly offer DR services by permitting the end-consumer of the service to manage these actions alone, for maximum flexibility and ease of use
The portal will allow the following actions to be performed:
- Managing virtual protection groups
- Initiating failovers
- Initiating test failovers
- Roll-back to the production site after failover
Colt’s replication service offerings are powered by Zerto Virtual Replication 3.0, which incorporates some new functionality for effective disaster recovery including vCloud integration, the Self-Service Portal and Zerto’s Cloud Manager (ZCM). The ZCM is an abstraction layer that enables CSPs to deliver DR services with centralized management of resources across multiple customers and several cloud locations.
Zerto Virtual Replication 3.0 will be demonstrated at VMworld Europe in Barcelona, Spain, on October 14-17. Colt will also demo its vCloud Replication Service and the vCloud Replication Service Portal at VMworld Europe.
